Wedding photography has to be my favorite form of photography. Perhaps it's hard to express in few words why, but the life, the love, the emotion, and the time and attention put into planning such an event, together with the significance it holds for two people and their extended families and friends all goes together to provide what I think is one of the best environments to work as a photographer.
When I capture living expressions or the joy and emotion of those times, I am immediately rewarded in my work. And if I can put a couple at ease while I'm looking for the right light, pose and angle, so they can express themselves in a way they will find memorable and beautiful, I am immensely satisfied. Wedding photography enables me to enter into the unrepeatable emotions and moments of the day. And at the end, I go away refreshed.
My entire approach in photography is to enter into the natural environments of the people I photograph. There's no getting around it, people look best when you catch them looking natural. I like the challenge this represents and enjoy bringing my understanding of light, love, life and perspective into the captures I make.
Oh, and yes, we're members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
